I read it in news, haven't watched race yet, but did see the ghastly pictures! Completely at loss of words! It is very sad and unbelieveable! RIP 58. May God bless his soul! One of the strongest spirits in current racing!

:'( I'm not sure why, but I'm quite deeply saddened by this tragedy, more than I thought I would! I had nightmares all night, sweating, waking up...The crash happened again and again, almost like my old crashes which repeated as still images or slow videos! I really feel sorry for Simoncelli's family and friends! What a terrible way for a 24year old with high spirits and dreams! He would have gone far ahead in his career! Bless his soul!

Again, a terrible reminder of the fact that is mortality! Life is precious, enjoy every moment! Some of his best:

found some live footage this morning of Marco's funeral

got the tail end of it, and was awesome...of course I don't know italian, but it was pretty awesome..

Rossi pushing out his moto at the end was just epic(i will find a pic of it ) and he will be riding it to where they are laying him down to rest in tribute  [Dolph]

It was more amazing to see that thousands of people were all around clapping and crying..he was more special than I could have ever imagined

RIP Brother and someday soon I hope we meet  [Dolph]

I've stayed away from this thread, as I find the whole thing terribly upsetting....but I thought you guys might want to see the event from Colin Edwards' seat.

Never appeal to a man's "better nature."  He may not have one.  Invoking his self-interest gives you more leverage.  R.A. Heinlein

Thanks Scott! I was wondering if Edwards and Rossi hadn't realized. It was so obvious! I have been following the news on it from abroad as well. The funeral was well attended and his Dad was very appreciative of support. He even said he had to console some fans himself!
