Need some ideas if anyone has an opinion or suggestion here.     ;)

Good friend (50's, 2 grown kids) eloped, having a reception in a few weeks.  Invite did not mention gifts one way or the other.  Getting her (them) something because she's a good friend and I want to â€" but what?

Unless they don't drink.

Guess it depends on how much you want to spend.

I know when B and I got married, we didn't need anything.

We got some tools for the motos, bike stands, and gift cert to our dealer.  Also some $$$.

She's not much of a drinker and I don't know whether he does or not.  Still thought a nice bottle of wine would be good as I believe everyone should have some good stuff in their inventory (for guests like me).   ;D    And I know they don't need anything....

Might do the cash thing if I can't come up with anything else - or I'll just call and ask her.

Thnx!

Since they probably have more toasters and fondue sets than they can use, money (yeah, I know, cold)  or maybe a weekend at a hotel or romantic dinner somewhere.

I'll skip the sex toy idea [laugh] and go with a nice bottle of champagne and two nice crystal bubbly glasses. They can sit on it for a year and celebrate their first anniversary with your gift. [thumbsup] [wine] Maybe a really nice picture frame. Maybe they have some pics of their ceremony or honeymoon. Practical but nice. Wifely unit and I didn't "need" anything. It was #2 for both of us. She's a picture nut so we got a lot of nice frames. Our island honeymoon got flushed by a hurricane so we have lots of framed ceremony pics.
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

something stupid and silly followed by a good gift

like 5 pounds of butter and a picture of a pony (who cares if the joke is lost on them, you'll laugh) followed by one of the gifts mentioned above
