I hate you

[evil]

I have a bunch of Port 7.62 and the hot Aussie L4 stuff too.  It's not as good as the Hirt, but damn haven't 7.62 prices gone thru the make the beast with two backsin roof?

Just do what I do.  Tell your wife it's an investment.  "Look at what Wolf 7.62x39 was selling for in 2001 and look it's selling for now!"  Especially the milsurp stuff -- do you think they are going to clear out those store houses of 7.62x54r soon ? probably not, but they will one day and they sure won't be making more of it.  Some of it is real shit, but if you have Mosins, they eat it up.  (Try the Albanian stuff, it smells like a dead cat, ugh!!)..

Buy a pallet of it.  or two. When it runs dry, and doubles in price, sell off half- - voila, free ammo.

8mm mauser anyone?  All that Turk and Romanian stuff that came in for a while?  All gone, it was literally 5c/round when they started dumping it.  Some of the Turk stuff had verdigris on it -- put it in a shell tumbler with corn husk and it polished it right off.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I remember years ago a Class III buddy had a Browning 1919 .30 cal machine gun. No way could you afford .30-06 ammo in bulk even back then so he (and other 1919 owners) got barrels chambered in 8mm. His was some middle eastern stuff but it was dirt cheap by the case and ran like a freight train! Loaded right up in the cotton ammo belts and fed/extracted fine. Don't recall if it was boxer or berdan primed, might have even been corrosive. Didn't matter. We always stripped it down and cleaned her over beers before we left the range. Good times. [thumbsup]

I really thought we were going to see a bonanza of Russian caliber stuff when Iraq went under...we might yet.....

I have been reloading .223, 30-06 and .308 for years to offset match ammo prices

but that economic window has been closing with the cost of primers and powder lately  >:(
This is an insult to the Pez community

All my re-loading friends have been pregnant doging the last couple of years. Seems like something set it all in motion and NO, I'm not going political here!! You don't either! >:( Things just went crazy as far as re-loading components went. Ammo and primers were like kryptonite. Seems to have calmed down a bit. [thumbsup]

Once all this kerfluffle burns out we'll get plenty.  The port and hirt was from the vietnam and rhodesian conflicts.

I picked up some Lithuanian 7.62 ball with a GGG headstamp - its probably the best 308 ball I've ever shot - if you see some, grab it - you won't be disappointed.
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

shit, new and used guns are practically the same price not to mention reloads too.  the last gun show I attended made me think twice about purchasing used again......for now until that 50 cal shows up.  :o

I have to admit I'm a fan.

I like the beaver tail on the SP.

I'll take it. ;)

I was hoping he would.  I fondled one for the first time over the weekend and really liked the way it felt.  Now trying to decide if I'd rather have the SP-01 or deal with the decocker only format of the P-01.

If you're into steel or alloy pistols, I think they're a great choice at the price.

Some of the special models are pricey.

My understanding is their tupperware models have had some issues.

Do you want a full size or an alloy compact?

Do you want the upswept beavertail or the standard dropped beavertail? They're really different pistols.
