I've been doing speech & language evaluations everyday for the last month.  Never know what these kids will say.  Tuesday I had to give a 5th grader a vocabulary test.

Me: The word is "negotiate..as in..some people don't like to negotiate for things". 
       Can you tell me what negotiate means?

Student: It's when my mom goes to my dad..when she wants something..(blah blah blah..unitelligible speech).

*Circle "0" points and go to the next question.  Finish that question and then (since he's sparked my interest and want to see where he was going with it) ask him "So, what did you mean when you were describing "negotiate"?

Student: (looking at me with a bewildered face) "Well..sex.  Duh."

Me: What!?

Student: "When my mom wants something..she has to give my dad sex."

*Cross off "0" points.    "I guess you know what negotiate means!"

Next word..

IZ, I'm not about to post the link here, but that reminds me of the Tracy Morgan standup bit where he's talking about that.

"What's mommy in there doin to daddy?"

"Gettin' us a new tv set."

...no matter how you spell it.

Chances are it's spelled like that somewhere in the drunk thread.

The spelling also works phonetically.

I hope she got extra credit
