I have been a bit quiet on here lately as I have been going through some crap at work. Long story short, I recently left and have now set up my own business.

As some of you may know, I am a personal injuries lawyer. My new business is called "Tasmanian Compensation Lawyers".

I actually worked for myself a few years ago and I am glad to be back to being my own boss again. While it has its risks, it also has a lot of benefits (including taking off for a ride if the weather is too good to be at work).

I don't expect that any of you will need my services but I just wanted to share my good mood/ enthusiasm.  [thumbsup]

Congratulations mate. I'm glad you feel liberated and have taken control.

Good luck with it.
Believe post content at your own risk.

I have done some work in NSW dust diseases tribunal. (I hope thats not what you want).

You can sue yourself but its not worth it.

I must get up to NSW for a ride sometime. Might have to do my own Turismo soon.

OK, one more post and I promise to let this thread die of natural causes.

I now have a website for my business which is www.tas-compo-law.com.au

It is a work in progress but I am pretty chuffed given I knew nothing about website building a month ago. Its all my own work including the photos.

I have also put it in my sig but I hope no one on here needs to use it.  [thumbsup]

Wish we would have had this support back in the 80's Leigh, Mesothelioma killed my father back in the mid eighties. If i remember rightly, my mother received the grand old sum of $15,000 through the dust & diseases control. To get access to any of her funds she had to tell them exactly what she wanted to spend it on. James Hardie & Co. have a lot to answer for, USA banned asbestos products in the mid fifties i am told. Hope you do well mate.

Thanks Brian. Sorry to hear about your Dad. I have had several clients with mesothelioma over the past few years. None of them are still around.

Despite JH and others knowing about the dangers of asbestos as early as the 1950's, production of it wasn't ceased in Australia until the mid 1980's. In Canada they are still mining it!

I'm glad to say that compensation levels have improved since then but it still doesn't make up for what has happened to people.

i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.
