Catching a flight home tomorrow to Oz, will be glad to be home. Baby Jessica is sure to be spoiled by our big extended family, I can't get over their excitement about it all.

Side note: Wife and I took a tour of the local maternity ward day before yesterday...

There was a 9lb 12oz baby that was born that morning.  Sweet baby Jesus...

I can relate to that, I was 11lb 6 and my brother was 10lb 12 (you wouldn't guess that to look at us now though)
Mum was 5 foot nothing but had diabetes and apparently that can lead to big babies.

and the expectation?.... ain't nothin' compared to when you have that little one in your arms. Good luck with it all.

Any of you new parent types do the Umbilical Cord Blood Banking thing?

My wife read a pamphlet or something about it...  I'm not convinced...

Experiences? Thoughts?

We were going to but then the baby was born 7 weeks early.  Of course, we didn't have our doctor there..she was on vacation..so nothing was in order and we missed out.   [roll]

I don't know how convinced I was anyway either.  Too busy with him now to really think about it.

We were more worried about the genetic testing.  That..we did have done.

Well the Mrs and I got a great early Christmas present.

After 6 years of trying, inlcuding a lot of visits to doctors and an adoption agency, Im pleased to announce she is 17 weeks along with our first bundle of joy.

So far the doctors have given her lots of good news, weve seen the lil' one on ultrasound a few times so far and even watched it waving and kicking in there.
We've decided not to find out the sex ahead of time, and the arrival date is May 17th 2012.

Now we just have to, register, paint the baby room, decide on names, and the endless list of pre baby things to do. Wish me luck fellas, Im gonna need it.
