...
In the market for a compact 9mm for concealed carry. Will let y'all know what follows me home.
Hey, me too... please let me know what you come up with and how you reached your decision.

I scaned the prior pages and didn't see anything about the FNP series... does anyone have any experience with these?  It may be slightly large for a ccw, but it's not that much larger than the Bersas and Kahrs that the local shop owner is advocating...

Any assistance appreciated, thx in advance.

I was thinking the fore grip is non-GI spec as is the vented heat shield and a few other tidbits

then saw it is Chilean issue,,,interesting piece

I've been wanting an FN-D for years now.

I fielded one in Israel, we had them in training.  IDF converted the Belgian models to 7.62 and to use FAL mags in the 50s.  Heavy as hell, but sweet guns.  The barrel is field removable, so swapping caliber is pretty easy.

there are no semi-auto models available, the last one I saw was at a gun show locally -- fully auto, form 4 transferrable, but it was $45k!!

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Thanks.  Next question:  what's great semi 357?

Sig invented the cartridge, so I'd start there.

Only recent guns can be found in that round.  Pretty much all of the pistols in .40s&w have a version in 357 sig as well -- same case, necked down.

My friend bought an FNP9 for his first weapon. He loves it. Hell, we all love it. Solid piece of machinery, and more accurate than any of us are to boot. It is a little large to carry though.

I'm looking towards M&P9c, or old Smith & Wesson 3913/3914

I am not looking for a pistol at all, but the Steyr M9/M40 guns are amazing.

Look how low the barrel sits in the frame

That's a nice piece of iron right there.  Never knew about them before now (just read the wiki page)

I've fired a friend's M9... I liked it very much, but I'd consider it too large for daily carry.  Steyr does make a 10rd compact version that interests me... I have yet to see one for less than $450+.

all good advice but costly shit too.  :P
I do love the eagle but I'm going to the range this weekend to try some out first.  Then I'll decide how to hide it from the spousal cop that inhabits these dwellings.   [evil]

Suggestions on who has the best price on beretta sub compact px4?  I'm already aware of cheaper than dirt, just looking for the 400 mark on a new one.   I know it might be a dream of course.

yeah, been looking but with shipping and FFL transfer fees it's basically buying a new gun.

can't get around that.  try limiting your gunbroker search to your local area.

what state are you in?  most states permit private sales without an FFL involved.  Both of you have to be residents of the same state.

in TX.  At the prices of a used gun I'll fork over the new sales price and since the wife decided she needed additional shoes her penalty will be to buy me that freaking gun for Christmas.

If you're still looking for a small(ish) 9mm and can swing a touch more money, I'd really suggest looking at one of the compact CZs.  I'm really impressed with the SP-01 that I picked up last week.
