I realize that you guys aren't in the same area, but I couldn't find anythign from Houston and I'm hoping someone has knowlege that I don't.

I'm flying out this week, and can only get a flight into hobby unless I want to pay $600 more.
I need to get from the hotel where my friends will be staying near George Bush(IAH) back down to Hobby and am looking for public transit or other suggestion, and about how much a cab would be.

Well I don't know what the cab cost would be, but Hobby and IAH are sort of opposite sides of Houston, so it won't be super cheap.  Why don't you rent a car or why aren't your friends picking you up?

Any response from me is tainted because I hate Houston. Now that I think about it I kinda hate Dallas too. I have always HATED driving in Houston, even if it isn't AM or PM rush hour. I'd rather take a cab (if you can afford it) and let the driver deal with the high blood pressure and the other asshole drivers.

I have only flown into Hobby maybe 4-5 times from Dallas on SW Airlines years ago so I'm no help there either.

Doesn't Heiro live down there? Do a member search and PM him for info. He has always been very nice and helpful on the DMF Texas forums.

not renting a car because i don't have the money for it. only flying into HOU because the flight there is $200 instead of $600+ to IAH.
Friends are picking me up at the airport but their flight is out of IAH and earlier than mine.
