Ran the wife's S4 on the dyne tonight.  Just a quicky at the local bike night but looking at it I think it could do with some mapping.

Just for reference here is my speedy's run

111 hp at the RW I think is pretty respectable. The S4Rs only Dynos at 117 at the RWin stock form . Am I missing something .

The first chart is the wifes S4R, it ran 107 at the rear wheel. Her bike is completely stock, with almost 12,000 miles on it.

The second run is my Speedy with 17K on it. I like the speedy graph, I think I'd like to get her Monster on the dyno and smooth the curve a bit.

I'd say that 107 for an S4R is pretty low from my experience over here in the UK - I've seen stock bikes dyno'd at 115-117 ish and tuned bikes making 128!

Try getting the heads serviced, cams dialled in and a Power Commander fitted and you should see some decent power!

107 RWHP for a "2004 S4R" is right in the ball park,,,isnt it ? Yes the 2006 - 2008 S4RS has 115 - 117 RWHP.

A lot depends on the Dyno, different dynos give different answers, and there are environmental influences too..  My 02 triple is listed at 118, I got 111 with a Zard, but the top of my tune looks flat too.

Look at the curve on her bike, it fell very flat at the top of the band.  I'm sure it could be spruced up with a PC; remember manufacturer HP claims are almost always some what fantastical.  Her run was about where I expected it to be.

looks almost identical to one of the all std S4R i've dynod.  cam timing really seems to help them - as in adding quite a few hp all thru including peak.

My 04 S4R with PCIII mapping at the dealer, full FBF system dyno'd at 112 or something. I was not impressed. Now maybe the dyno was reading low or whatever. I wouldn't pay 300 to have it done on my 05.
No way anyone is seeing 128 at the wheel without engine work.

I've seen both the bike and the dyno graph and 128 is from a basically stock but very well set up S4R motor - nothing significant in the way of mods,   just time well spent n setting up the cams and Power Commander. The bike has a full large bore exhaust and free flowing filters. My buddy did the set up and got to the point where the injectors are holding it back as they can't flow any more. My buddy spent about 2 days in his dyno room setting this up!! The bike has had a lot of money spent on but the motor has not been split (apart from repair when a belt cover split and ate the belt... ouch!)

He also races a KTM Super Duke and has got that up to about 139 at the wheel too!

Dyno numbers vary greatly by machine. Here in town, we have one Dyno that consistently reads 5 hp low, the other reads 5 hp high. I'd take it all with a grain of salt...

XTR's curve appears to match pretty well to the dynojet i use for an all stock bike, and the most i've seen a s4r do on this dyno is 117 with std cams and 121 with the dp cams and exhaust kit.  996 or st4s would make 118 - 119.  s4rs with full termi kit 127.
