I agree! Funny, ingenious, actually on topic and did I mention funny? Wonder what the manufacturer's suggested retail price will be and how long AMS will have them on backorder?

It may come as a surprise to some but I won't go back to Indy for the MotoGP this year.  Other than the "incident" where they strung me along for three months pretending that they were going to help me with the accident, the drive up is boring.  There is nowhere to ride around unless you're into cornfields and geometrically laid out roads.  It's a nascar circuit which is a big oval with a stadium seating.  There are good points and bad points to it.

It's too bad that Barber lost out to Miller in their bid to host WSBK but I hear that the Miller race track is great too.  If I am going to travel 900+ miles to see a race, it will not be back to Indy.  Utah sounds more interesting to me. 

Laguna is the site for the other US MotoGP race but hotel accomodations are outrageous.  The town is small and quaint.  But there are opportunities to ride great roads.  The track is small but has the famous corkscrew which one has to see at least once in your life.  Did I say the hotel accomodations are expensive?

If AMA were more intersting and especially if Ducati were part of it I'd say Barber in Atlanta would be a great place to go to.

Laguna is a great place to watch some racing.  And awesome roads most of the way out there.  Me and the wife rode the 900RR out there for the WSBK races several years ago.  We stayed in Salina at a Motel 6 or somesuch, but it was maybe a half hour+ from the track and more reasonable pricing than the places in town. Not to mention it's Doug Chandler's hometown 

I'd still like to go to Indy though.  It's fun to have a bike at a major race event, but cdc is right, it's probably not great for recreational riding.  Getting  a cheap flight out and a big rental van is what we used to do for the F1 races out there.  Cabs are another option, which we did the last year or two to reduce risk of being arrested.

if i go to leguna i got a place to stay for FREE. it's in redondo beach though. plus i dont know how many of us his wife will take. they live a few blocks from the beach and next door to napoleon kauffman. football fans know who he is. i remeber you exit off hwy 1 go west and they are the 2nd right just dont remember which exit. i was in the corps with him and we still talk and visit all the time. he's from here so he'd prob be happy to see some texans. i'll call and let you know what they say.

It's looking like I won't be able to do most or any of the weekend trips this year.

I have a few big plans coming up and I need to focus on those.  One of which is visiting the Ducati factory
