This guy is no different. He got his voice heard/face seen by millions of people because of a viral video. Right place, right time. Congrats to the guy with the cell phone cam. We all know who Ted Williams is. Don't give two shits about who recorded it. Someone caught Ted in the act using a honed skill to impress. Props to him for knowing his strengths.

here are some links about the guy that actually recorded him:

iirc, he's a reporter that simply heard ted's voice at a light one day and then went back days/weeks later and got the "say something in that radio voice" video that went viral. he even sat on that video for ~8 weeks or so because it didn't really "fit" (was too long, segment didn't flow right, etc). it seems that clip eventually got published because it was a slow news day.

I've heard a few DJs make the following point: What about all the out of work radio guys with great voices who DIDN'T make the beast with two backs their lives up but ended up getting shitcanned during the recession? Why should this Ted Williams guy get handed all these opportunities?

Seems to be starting the unraveling phase already - the universe has a cruel way of maintaining equilibrium.  He looked better off in the video from a few weeks ago.

Wow, that's sad and unfortunate, but it serves to remind us that we only see what the press wants us to see. First we are shown the good, then we are shown the bad, what next?

Probably a bit of truth on both sides.  Once an addict always an addict, but also money has a tendency to bring every gold digging tick out of the wood work trying to latch on.

Hopefully he realizes the opportunity that just got handed to him and has some sliver of fortitude left to get his life straightened out.  It is something he has to do and no ammount of outside charity will remedy will help if he is not willing to help himself first.
