The tests so far have not included any hard performance numbers. Now someone finally tested all the claims. I want one.

One showed up at my trackday yesterday.  Awesome bike.

Very FAST!

Desmosedici?

I rode one a few days ago.

No words truely describe the performance. I've ridden a few high performance jap fours, Blades etc, but the D16 blows them into the weeds. It's actually quite easy to ride through traffic, the exhaust noise makes sure the tin tops get out of the way, except it knocks out enough heat to BBQ your legs!

But, get it over 6-8,000 rpm and it's a missile. the acceleration is awesome and requires a total recalibration of your senses! It's super stable when accelerating, only lifting it's front wheel over crests in the road (a little scary at 125mph...), otherwise it just drives forward relentlessly to the redline. The noise is amazing, the one I rode had the race pipe so properly howled at high revs, definitely an ear plugs moment! I managed to find a decent stretch of straight road and let it rev out in 2nd and 3rd, saw about 145mph in 3rd (I think, busy holding on!) and rapidly ran out of road! Overtaking cars is a blast, drop it a gear and your past in the blink of an eye.

The downsides? 53 miles to the fuel light come on when on the road (around 40ish on the track according to the owner!), it's pretty hard on the wrists, it's very hot in traffic, the suspension is way to firm for normal road riding, there's no steering lock so turning round is a pain and the worst bit is it's waaaaaaaay beyond my wallet. They're changing hand is the UK for about £35-37k for used and £45k unregistered....

But, having the chance to ride it was a rare privilege and an truly awesome experience! I want one sooo much.

Anyone wanna buy a kidney? Good condition, one careful owner, £40k no offers!
