We went up to Lochranns Irish Pub in Frisco last weekend and I ordered a Maredsous (bottle). The bartender gave me JUST the bottle and when I asked for a glass, she gave me a standard pint glass and replied, "were Irish, we don't do that fancy glass crap".

Maredsous is good stuff... which one did you have?  IIRC, they have a 6% blond, 8% dark, and 10% tripel.  I haven't tried the tripel yet, but the others are quite good!

BTW, there was a beer festival in brussels this weekend... life is good!
