Handlebar Risers - What a Difference!

I just had Eastern Cycle Ducati install a set of their handlebar risers on my S2R800. What a difference in comfort, especially for around town / slower speed riding! I have trouble with back pain and carpal tunnel syndrome in my wrists-- the stock setup was ok at highway speeds, but sometimes my hands would go numb riding at slower speeds or in traffic. My back would start hurting after a couple of hours of riding. The risers lift the bar about 1.5 inches and give me a much more upright and comfortable riding position. Great Mod for short money!!

get 'em here (no online ordering- you'll have to call them- they've got risers for all Monster models) : http://www.easterncycleducati.com/ and click on ECD Parts.

PS- I have no affiliation with Eastern Cycle - just a happy customer.

khalid,

i insatlled a set of these on my '05 s2r immediately when i bought it new. some say you have to fumble with the brake lines & throttle cable to allow the installation, as it eats up any slack that is in the lines/cables. all i ended up doing is rolling the brake line banjos down a bit & it was on in about 15 min. there is a link below to them. hope this was of some help. + 1 on the SpeedyMoto. 20 mm rise makes a huge difference in comfort.

I realized that immediately after clicking 'post'! Apologies

Those SpeedyMotos look really classy. But at a price-- almost triple the price of the ECD's and not as much rise.

Will adding something like this take the weight of my wrists when riding my 696?  I am short, 5'8, but after a while I realize that my wrists get a little sore.  I am pretty top heavy (stalky) and am curious how my wrists would feel without some thickness.

I have noticed all sorts of different sizes.  How do you decide height wise?

Also, does it affect performance at all?

khalid, this is a different manufacturer, and you can order online, try http://www.zianet.com/GenMar/
they also make ones for pre 02 Monsters which non of the other do any more :(

+1 again on the SpeedyMoto item.  I had the Eastern Cycle blocks inserted for a week, then went for the one-piece SpeedyMoto riser/mounts -- much better and well worth the money.  Genmar looks a little better made than the Eastern, but still, like stacking up blocks IMHO  ;D

can you tell me what kind of mirrors those are? I hate my stockers.

Welcome Muskrat!

If that question was for me - you can read about it here:   http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=7427.0

They are Rizoma Impulsive. Mounted on wideners for better REAR view around my 3XL body. They look much better without the wideners, but I needed the upgraded functionality. Most people, and I, prefer to get their Rizoma stuff from PJsParts.  http://www.pjsparts.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=265&osCsid=e789916b8adc2befe3b3b7e90dbae1ce

Do a search on Rizoma in here - loads of information to find [thumbsup]
