great pics; thanks for sharing.... [thumbsup]

... no rain photos?

2k miles on twisties; thats alot of miles; where were you sore? I'm usually saddle, back and arm sore after a days worth of twisties on my 800 ... (2-300 miles).
.... all the world is yours.

The afternoon we rolled into Gateway, we were expecting rain all day. We missed it by a matter of miles. After lunch that day, a huge rain storm rolled in, but in 15 minutes it was gone, and the roads were dry.

So an absolutely perfect week of weather.

At day 6, my rear was getting twitchy. I put the last 550 miles or so in one day instead of two. Other that that, I was fine. The upright riding position makes a huge difference.

I actually LOWERED the bars on the FJR for this trip. The old position put too much weight on my bum and not enough on the legs. ...worked great.
We had an awesome time and rode pretty hard most of the trip. The sight seeing part seemed like a whirlwind and we could have hiked a lot more.
Bridges national park would have been a good one to add for a hike. We spent all afternoon in Arches and hiked a lot! I was definitely ready to get back on the bike the next day!
You could spend a week hiking Bryce!
Thanks Munch, Great Trip my friend!!  [beer]

Read like a perfect mid-week trip.   Good friend, good roads, good weather, good food, pushing limits of iron-ass and a mini-emergency with the tire.

Thanks for sharing, the pics were great.  I drove through those areas 10 years ago and your pics took me back.

You know, I've hit that road coming over the La Sal mountains a few times.  Not the best road but still a good one.  I wish you would have side-tracked and hit red-mountain pass while you were in the area though!
