I have a 2006 620 and notice that I have, I think it's the fuel filter, under the right-side panel. There's a metal cover on it. I looked on the Ducati website at the pics for my bike and year but the pics doesn't show it. You can see the rear shock, but can't on my bike because of the filter and cover.

Wondering what this really is and why I have it and not on other bikes. Thanks.

emissions canister

I believe what you are looking at is the emissions canister.

Are there hoses coming out the top?

What they said. I believe all of the US bikes came with the canister. Here's a good thread with info on how to remove it: http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=2337.0

Thank you. I ordered the Arrow high mounts and on their picture the mounting tab attaches to where the canister is, except their bike doesn't have the canister. So I got worried that I ordered the wrong pipes and that it won't fit.

Nope, you got the right pipes - high mounts just require you to remove that emissions canister is all.  Follow the linky from JBubble and remove that canister.  Once you have it off, you might want to track down a side pod (one of the plastic triangles) that doesn't have a bump-out to fit around the canister.

-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

The local dealer here yanks them emissions cannisters off before letting them onto the showroom.  ;D
