Clearance on a DSS monster--PICS (revisited)

I was going through old photos looking for toasty stuff and found this one.  Some of you might remember my original post from the TOB (sorry for the derby), but for those of you who haven't seen it, it's a pretty good shot of clearance on a DSS monster.  I didn't want it to get lost.  It might help some of you who are wondering what drags first or what mods will improve clearance.  Please no comments about my form or the reflectors.  I think this was only my second track day or something.

For reference, the bike pictured is an '03 M1000 with CycleCat rearsets, DP low pipes, and the nub is cut off the kickstand.  Suspension is set up for my weight, but the rear isn't raised.  The bike looks a lot different now than it did then. 



A -- both the shifter and the sidestand. You see on this pic that if I hadn't cut off the sidestand nub, it might have been the first thing to touch down.

B -- the low can. This was the first thing to drag.

C -- the footpeg for the rearset. My cyclecat rearsets are up pretty high.* Dunno how this pic would look with stock rearsets.* On my old monster, I touched down the sidestand nub, not the rearset.

Then how the hell am I dragging the lower exhaust outlet on the Quat D? I'd think the peg would touch first based on your pic. Next time I can, I'm going to have someone give me hand and lean the bike over to see how it compares.

I used to drag the stock exhaust, but I haven't had anything drag with the Ex-Box, but then I'm not the most aggressive rider out there. Maybe the rear suspension is compressing and needs to be firmed up a bit?

Hitting with a bump in a hard corner is a definite but I've also had it touch with a lot of lean angle in a corner and no reason for the suspension to be compressed. I only weigh about 150 so I doubt that without a bump it's compressing much.

I dragged my seat a couple times.  All the way up the ramp to the crash truck too.

That clearence is pretty typical for most Monsters. On the under motor exhaust, I've never seen one that didn't drag, you buy them for looks or sound, not clearence. As someone who's been on his head more than once because of limited clearence, you all have my sypathies.
