Thanks for the heads up on DML, Fastwin.  I thought it was a little "ghostly" over there.  ;)  Anyway, goes to show how little time I've had to even hit the site anymore these days.  Interesting thing happened since I originally posted this thread on DML.  My wife lost her job of 12 years last week; company pulled the plug and declared itself insolvent.  While we're not pressured to sell this bike now, it sure makes the decision to let it go much easier.  Appreciate your honest feedback.

Well, the time has come to part with our Duc. I'm a bit disappointed as we never really got to enjoy this bike as much as we had anticipated. This is our 2nd bike in the garage and it was purchased with the intent that it would be my wife's bike; I spend most my ride time on my Harley. Anyway, she took her class, got her license and we took a few rides together, as time would allow up here in the burbs, but time where we could both break away to ride together is really infrequent. We have two small children and professional careers, that when there is a moment of downtime, it's utilized to do the rest of the stuff----house, yard, kid's sports, church, school functions, dog, etc. Our timing was off, as we should have postponed this purchase until the kids are bit older and more independent. Anyway, that being said--- this bike is in mint condition, virtually new. I had a heck of a time upgrading it, as you can see by the list below. It kept me busy for a while and at least I felt as though the bike was getting attention since we didn't ride it as much. I've taken it to the office a few times and it's been garage kept since the day we brought it home. We bought it from AMS, Dallas. Those guys have been great and performed the initial service. The bike has less than 1,200 miles. It's a 2007 695 with the following upgrades:

Rizoma Belt Cover
Arrow High-Mount Exhaust, Carbon, with Thermo-tec wrap on the pipes
Ducati Seat Cowl
Tail-Chop with Clear Alternative integrated LED tail light
CRG Shorties/Levers
Bar-end Mirrors
EVO Clutch Slave Cyl
14T Sprocket
K&N/FBF Airbox Kit
Cycle Cat Adjustable Rear-Sets
Cycle Cat Triple/Upper
Cycle Cat Adjustable risers/handle bars
CC Frame Sliders
Carbon Fiber wind-screen
Powder Coated White Wheels

Yes, it's seen mod heaven! I went crazy as all the parts seemed so reasonable, compared to the amount I dumped into mods on my VROD. The bike looks and sounds great. I know you can't make full cash back on mods and don't expect to- part of that investment was enjoyment for me, working on the bike. However, given it's like- new condition, very low mileage, mods and the fact that it's never been abused- never seen a track and it's never had a bath; I clean/polish my bikes with Honda polish only- don't use water.

I've seen stock 695's listed from $6,500 +, but they're mainly stock, have high miles or only one/two mods at most. What would be a reasonable price to ask for this bike?

Glad you made it over. I'm not the best at telling folks what to ask for their scooter but I'm sure you will have much better luck over here. Trust me, that board is dead. They pretty much pissed everyone off when the new owners took over. It's dead and we are all over here.

Maybe Chris or George can chime in with their thoughts. They are 695 riders.

El Matador

Damn, that is a very sweet 695.

Sadly, you hardly ever get a return on the mods that you made. Especially now that the new monster is out.

I think that your best bet is to return it to stock and sell off the aftermarket parts. Or at least as much as possible. (rearsets, triple, levers, pipes, windscreen, seat cowl)

If you do decide to do this, you can probably get around 7k for your bike, and about 3 more for the aftermarket stuff. If  you do not want to do that, you can prob ask for 8k and wait a long time until someone willing to pay comes up.

I know it sucks, but I've dumped so much money into my own 695, and I know that if I ever sell it, I'm not gonna get what it's worth. That's why I don't plan on selling. Ever.

If you do decide to sell the aftermarket, let me know, I might be interested in the rearsets.

Duc Fever

Sorry to hear about the bad turn of luck. That is one great looking Monster for sure [thumbsup]  Unfortunately El Matador is correct in that you would probably be better off financially by returning it to stock and selling the good bits seperately.  This board has a pretty active 'for sale' section.  Anyway,  good luck to you.

thanks for the feedback guys!  i figured the same - but as i added the mods to this thing i also unloaded a lot of the stock parts.  didn't get much for them, but never thought i'd be getting rid of the bike so soon either.  oh well.  life's little lesson's, never to old to catch a new one.

i may get up in the attic soon to see what parts i did keep and perhaps take the wrench to it again and see about removing some of the mods to sell-off independently.  if i do, i'll post here for those who may be interested.  i'm also trying my luck on CL to see if someone does pick it up for 7900-8K.  this weather we're having is great though....so this little duc will be taking a ride with me to the office the rest of the week!   ;D
