O/T: Duckwrench to race again. Race Report.

Yep, you read that right. Nope, it won't be on the Ducati. Heck, it won't even have a motor!

It's Cyclocross season again. Cyclocross? What's that, you ask? It's essentially a Steeplechase with bicycles. Short courses, barriers, run-ups, mud, sand, mud, gravel, mud, pavement, mud, all on 35mm tires and no suspension! Races average 40 minutes in length...and that's 40 minutes of pure anaerobic hell! Nothing super technical, mainly just an extra set of hands to help me out.

Come on out, and help support a good cause. ALL proceeds from this event will benefit White Hill Middle School in Fairfax.

And more importantly, and far more entertaining, watch me crash , get my arse handed to me , crash some more , and wonder what drives a person to take up this sport.
And as all things Euro, there will most likely be an abundance of coffee , food , and beer !!

So come on out, bring your whistles and cowbells, and come see the bastard child of the cycling world in all it's glory. Besides, it'll make for a nice ride [moto] through Marin.

Maria can't make it out with me, so I need a person or two to run a pit for me. Nothing too complex, really just someone to hold a spare set of wheels for me during the race. And if someone could be the shutter-bug on the spot for me, that'd be great!

It's on the schedule, but first I need to see how out of shape I really am.

I'm doing Fairfax to gauge my recovery. If I come out of this race no more beat up than one should be from 'cross , then I'll do the SP Series too.

So, for reasons beyond my control, the race didn't happen for me. I won't bore you with trivial details, but I will leave it at this: My drunken downstairs neighbor is at the root of this incident.

This was going to be a prep race for me anyway, sp I could gauge my fitness/skills before the start of the Bay Area Super Prestige Series on October 19th. Oh, well...

So the series kicks off on the 19th, at McClaren Park, here in SF. I'll put up details in a week or so.
