Two quick questions from a spouse of a potential Montser owner.

1. My wife at 5'5" is short legged and long waisted. She's got her eye on a 2009
white Monster. When holding the bike up right with the gel seat on it she
just toches the balls of her feet. Can the bike be lowered and if so by how
much. This being her first real bike after doing  well in the safety
course she feels like in time she could get used to the height. I know that the
gel seat is a bit taller than the stock seat  but she likes the comfort of the gel seat.

2. Bar risers..... does anyone know how far up and back you can go with these without
changing the cables?

Thanks in advance..................

I have the DP seat as well and it is much more comfortable.

there are a couple of guys on here that have changed the bars out for rizomo i think. you need to search for that. problem is the indents in the tank. unless you get the clamp risers and take the bars above the tank.

also, i think you can pull the forks through a bit, and change the rear spring preload, but there is no rideheight adjustment in the rear like the SSS bikes.

i bet you could get another inch or maybe two by doing those two things. also you can have the seat shaved and recovered, there is someone that did that as well on here i think. albeit someone is added to the seat in the front also.

realize when you do all this the bike is going to handle different. if you soften the rear spring to let it sag a bit, you might want to make sure the shock dampning is firm enough not to jounce. raising the bars will bring the weight back but then if you pull the forks through you might even out there.

it's a great bike. i hope she enjoys it. ride safe.

i've read about other people getting corbin seats that give a good inch of less height, call them and see what they can do..

but PLEASE don't get that ugly stitched saddle thing. if they lower it tell them to leave the HD-wanna-be stitching off.

Quite a bit. Mine is super high for a monster. The fast idle and throttle cable needed to be re-routed but that's ridiculously easy to do. I didn't pull the brakeline up any (you can see the natural loop from the lower triple) and at the top it's pretty much at full stretch but not a problem because being attached to the front wheel they don't need any slack. I totally love this set-up. One of my best mods.
