At this month's Zeitgeist, we talked about getting together again for a real healthy evening of  [drink] and  [wine] and  [bacon].  Figured I'd give folks some time to recover from this month's Z and give enough time before the next one (and factor in also LDD) - don't want to see your faces too often!  [puke] (just keeding!!)  ;D

Full bar, video games, skee ball, pool, and lots of motorcycle parking outside.
And they just added a bar menu (including fried chicken, homemade corn dogs and of course CHICKEN FRIED BACON) - Chef Andy Brown has used his experience working at Campton Place, Boulevard, etc. to create his own unique bar fare (seriously though, I don't know how long Andy will last here, I think his creativity is too boxed in for this place so get him while you can)

Location: Geary (between 3rd and 4th Avenues) in SF's Richmond District
Time: Thursday October 9th, 6:30ish or whenever

Why on earth would you take something as fantastic as bacon and violate it with some bizarre coating of fowl? The man is a philistine.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Mmmm  [bacon]

It's not fried in chicken, it's battered in the same type of breading you'd find on fried chicken! It's like a chicken fried steak, but better!!! [thumbsup] [bacon] [bacon] [bacon] [thumbsup]

Speaking of "bowls," ( [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]) are you going to be around Wed? I need to get your bowl back to you.

Dude, tell me about it... the Chef became part Owner at this establishment quite recently when they changed the look & feel of it, changed it from an Asian Club scene into more of a "neighbourhood-friendly" place and then added bar fare.  Recently when I was there, he was saying that he misses making more sophisticated food but was doing his best with what the demand is for.  FYI, the fried chicken is fantastic with an amazing crunchy corn batter served with candied mashed yams (I think I tasted toasted marshmallows in there)... and you know how at those fancy schmancy places, they drizzle a little pattern of say blended pea juice swoosh around the food?  He totally does that!!.  And the Manhattan's are always overflowing and they give you extra in a shot glass!  [thumbsup]

okee-then - I'll taxi.   ;)

No seriously - there's been such a renaissance in homey food. I posted about this plate of french fries cooked in truffle oil sprinkled with parmiggian - wow - another thing all together. Simple things done really well are tops IMO.  (Like a Pirelli [cheeky])
