Why does the 999 look like a dog and the DB7 looks great?

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I actually don't think it looks that good either...

the extra 20K?

I like the 999.  but the db7 is drool-worthy at another level.

Would it be the same if it were 11K?   I'm not sure.   maybe.

exotica does draw us in.   It should be an experience every time.
It's still buy a flounder a drink month

I've never had a problem with the looks of the 999. Not even a little.

And I don't think the DB7 looks so cool, but it is cool because of who built it, the quality, the chassis and running gear.

i agree. the 999 was a great looking bike. but it was a too heavy.

I like the DB7 and the 999. I don't know why everyone says the 999s are ugly. They are different than the Tamburini bikes (spelling?) but in a good way in my opinion.

Love the DB7 and I love the 999, If someone gave me either one, I wouldn't complain  [thumbsup]

Yeah, I like the 999 styling too.  Everyone hated it at the time, but the Tamburini style was just old.  And FTR, I'm not in love with the 1098 styling either, it's kinda liked post-black album Metallica to me.  They just did what everyone wanted them to do, no innovation (at least styling-wise).

DoubleEagle

I'm thinking the same person that designed the original Monster designed the DB7.

I like everything about the DB7 except the exhaust.  I also like the 999.  Dolph

AAAAHHH 999`s got to love them [thumbsup]
Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

DB7>1098

I also happen to be a huge fan of the 999... even though the 10's settling in on me, I still don't like it.

Agreed.  And while I have been one of the BIGGEST critics of the 999, it has grown on me a bit.  I still wouldn't have one with my own money, but the sight of them no longer offends me.  I think it's because I see far less of them these days.

DesmoDiva

the 749/999 look better than the DB7.

the lines of the DB7 are crisper than the 9's, closer to the 848/1098s.

so to me the DB7 looks more like the love child of the two.  or a 848/1098 sporting the over/under headlamp.   :P

Are you serious? Who cares how much it costs? The cost of a machine shouldn't influence the opinion of anyone except badge snobs and poseurs who like to flash their cash. It's a nice bike, but there are plenty of others I'd rather spend the money on and plan on doing so.

You are all wrong and I am right.

Deal with it.
