I was sort of looking forward to this movie, but rottentomatoes always makes my final decision. Speed racer might not even be netflixxed with that pathetic score!

I liked the idea when they first announced they were going to make the movie but after I saw the trailer its definately Netflix only.

On a high note, www.hulu.com just added the entire first season of the cartoon online!

never saw the cartoon but the movie was good
i guess if it's not exactly like the cartoon it's going to sux

As far as Speed Racer the Movie, looks super lame from the previews.

I have been looking forward to this since I first caught wind of it, I was a HUGE fan when I was a kid, it was the only thing besides skiing & Christams that could get me outta bed early...

I read a REALLY bad/scathing review before I saw it & started to get worried.

I loved it.  I thought they did a great job with the casting, the car fights, etc - they captured the flavor of the original very well (campiness included), and added on to it nicely.  My thought after seeing the movie, was that anyone who doesn't like the movie, likely didn't watch/like the cartoon as a kid...

It seems like most of the critics dislike it but regular fans that see it like it.  If you look at rottentomatoes.com the official percentage is crap but the RT community is giving it a 76%
