you guys think these boots would work when riding a monster?

http://www.dual-star.com/index2/Rider/SIDI%20Discovery%20Boot.htm

They are kinda a lite MX boot, made for sport touring bikes, or ATV's.  i never liked how the other boots basically are just thin leather. At least this boot has some protection, and ive read reviews that they are comfortable to wear while walking around, some folks wear them with street bikes.

What you think? Would you feel stupid to be seen in them on a street bike? I kinda like them and really dont give a hoot what people think. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these boots on a monster?

I went to a shop today to try these on, walk around in them and see what i think. They felt good. Just a few minutes walking around and they started to break in a bit. A little stiff when trying to bend the toe portion, but i could tell that would break in with some time. Ive been looking at the Sidi On Road boot, but really these are about 100 bucks less with more protection.....the steel toe bit helps to prevent the sole from coming loose in the front of the boot usually thats the first thing to go on my boots cause when i take off i scrape the front of my toe on the ground.

Just been looking for new boots; Sidi very nice good quality; I like a good rugged stiff boot so these may just be the ticket ...

I love my Sidi's  (streetburner) and think that those MX/adventure looking boots would look sick.  You know you can't beat their quality, so looks come as a distant second to them serving their purpose of protecting your feet.

Sidis are the most comfortable boots i've ever tried on. They're the kind of boots that you don't feel after you've broken them in and they last forever. The fact that they offer the most protection around doesn't hurt either.

I had to get my A stars boots because the sidis were on backorder. I wish I would've waited.  [bang] [bang] [bang]

I just got a pair of Sidi Vertigo's for my BD a couple of months ago.  I absolutely love them, very comfortable, appear to have good protection.  I do keep a pair of shoes at work so I don't wear them all day at work when I commute.

I think the boots the OP posted about would probably be tough to break in for on road use....

As far as comfort goes, i think its the shape of your foot that also helps decide how comfy they are. I have Supertech R's and I'm in love with them, they replaced my SM Pluses.

But I have wider feet and the sidi's just didn't work for MY foot. Best dvice I can give is not to buy a boot if you can't try it on first.

I know Sidi stuff is the shiznit, but I got fat feet and they just don't work for me.  Even the "Mega" line, which is wider, is still a pinch for my duck feet.  (No pun .... )

As long as they stay on the pegs, and you can fit your toe under the shifter, after that it's all about how they feel on your foot.

I think the look works with a Monster, too, especially around Portland.  Wouldn't go so well with something like my SS... but the appearance fits well with the black Monster.  [evil]

I also like Sidi's build quality.  [thumbsup]

If you tried 'em on and liked the feel, only other thing I'd be looking at is how thick the toe is, and whether it's easy to get the toe under the shifter.  Outside of that, buy 'em!

They are showing up tomarrow, spensive liitle suckers.  Ill let you guys know how they pan out. I tried them on at the yamaha/honda dealership. They felt great, i walked around for a while in them and they dont feel like the standard MX boot, it flexed and started breaking in right away. In the beginning after i sold my harley (cough cough) and i bought the monster all i had to wear was my engineer boots that i used with my harley. Big old profile on those, and it fit under the shifter so im hoping these do......i will make them fit for the price i paid.  [moto]

I got the boots. I couldnt be happier. Very well made, fit like a glove. At first it was hard to fit under/feel the shifter but you get use to it. I love these boots.  [bow_down]

ha ha yeah that occured to me the other night.

All I can say is those look like they will do the job.  The pictures of Nakid's injuries on the other board convinced me I needed to upgrade my construction boots to something a little more protective.  I have been wearing the aplinestars smx-4s for the last 2 years and can not complain about them except for the fact that at times they are warm and my feet sweat a little more then usual during those hot months.
