Just got back late last night from an outstanding weekend on the beautiful mountain roads of North Carolina, Tennessee, and about 100 feet of Georgia.

The Dragon, while crowded, was a lot of fun.  Only two TN State Troopers present, no M-ROCers hit the pavement, and we got a couple pretty good pics.    :)

I had a great time and can't wait to get back up there again sometime.

Many thanks again to JBubble for letting us crash at your place.  You rock!   [thumbsup]

Now for the pics.  I'll add the shots from Killboy whenever he gets them on the interwebz.

From left to right:  me, JBubble, Jobu
We're standing in front of the part of the sign where it says "Pop. 8".
And don't mind the yellow van parked in the background.  That wasn't ours.

Three happy Ducs at The Overlook.

Cheesin'.  What we do best.   :P

The view from the west side of The Overlook.

Probably the closest I got to dragging a knee all day...

A scenic view in the Nantahala National Forrest...

The background from that last shot...

Neither Ed West nor his hay bale consented to this.  I hope I don't get in trouble for it.
It was in GA though, so I think I'll be alright.

nice, the pic of you buggering that bale of hay is quite disturbing.. the chicken one is hilarious!

the yellow goldwing looks like the dude "Yellow Wolf"´s bike. He is serious fast on the dragon according to the youtube vids.

I am just that slightest bit envious right now!

superjohn

[laugh] Nice pics. One of these days I'm going to get to make the trip. Maybe in the spring?

Is there anything you can pick out on it that differentiates it?  B/c I saw at least three different yellow Goldwings up there that day.

And possibly the best part about the hay bale pic was the people driving by while we were taking it.   [laugh]

OverCaffeinated

+1 Envious

+10 on the hay bale pic being unsettling.

So, in the first pic, I actually look to be of normal height. I assure you that I am absolutely not. Rameses is prolly a foot taller than me.

Heres the bikes at the cabin (pictures from phone so they arent very good):

Rameses and Jobu unloading at the cabin:

Loading up to go back home...

"Yeah...this is gonna be fun"

I had a great time with the boys and no one caught on fire. A successful trip indeed!!!

He's the one passing you at 120mph on the inside of the hairpin you're taking at 25 mph

Weird-you're only like, 2 inches taller than Jbub, who's like....5'2". How the hell do you ride a hypermotard?

Are you and IZ from the same section of the shire?  :P
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Oh man, I wish we had gotten pics of that road we took in highlands.

Here's a map of the roads we were on yesterday. You see where Main St ends and turns into Horse Cove? Yeah, we took that. 10mph curves and Jobu blowing one of those curves was interesting.

64 was harrowing in the dark with a POS Monster headlight. Rameses was kind enough to lead us home to Cashiers after I got tired of leading in the dark Thank you!

Oh, and 106 (Dillard Rd) is the road we took down to Georgia to molest a hay bale. Beautiful ride with some decent turns.

Great pics, thanks for sharing!  I was really hatin' working this past weekend.  I wanted to play catch-up with you find folks.  I was working down in the valley below Highlands though, hardly a consolation ~

Which Road JBubble?

In the first link she posted, from the "A" marker, go to the right until you see the oval with 1603 in it.

That's the road we accidentally found.

It was pretty incredible.   [evil]

I wish I had know what your route was between Franklin & Bryson City.  If you follow NC28 through Franklin, you dodge all but a couple miles of the 4-land AND it's an awesome stretch of road.  Way better than 441 & 23/74 ~

Little bit of a hill we were standing on.  Refer to the pic of us standing by the bikes.   ;)
