If you love your bike, set it free.
If it comes back to you, you've
probably high-sided.

Oh my christ is that nice!

Hmmm. . .

could be a nice replacement for a missing 675 . . .

It's like I keep saying:  Those who would sacrifice a free range session for a giant beer, deserve neither free range time nor a giant beer.

I really want an 848 but have convinced myself to wait until I am at least in a higher paying job.  You are not making that decision easy.  ;)

I hear the gas mileage is excellent. It would almost pay for itself, you know.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Sorry to threadjack but that was my exact justification for getting my S2R.  I hear they have 50% less maintenance now too.  ;)

That is until you factor in that you need premium gas, new tires every 3k-4k miles, oil changes about the same mileage and the maintenance costs :P  Of course thats how i justified commuting my bike everyday also and the huge smile i have when i get to work!

+1, though,
Living/working in the city:
I did the math and it turned out the 848 was about 1/3 the price per mile than my POS Ford, factoring in repairs, ga$, maintenance, parking $, parking tickets, DMV charges, Bridge tolls, etc.
848 - 2 year full warranty, free road side assistance/ tow; (Any bike)free on bridges at commute hours, park free, or $1.50 a day(free), get there in 1/10 the time...(Any bike); average 45 ~ 50MPG

+ I like it.

I'm not a fan of the red stripes.  :-\ Awesome besides that though.  [thumbsup]

I really want to paint mine gloss black...gotta justify the expense to my wife though.  [roll]

My wife encouraged me to buy the pearl white one. I got to leave it that color to keep the endorsement from her.  ;D  It is the fastest color anyway.

That bike is very sexy though... wrong color... but very damn sexy.

I'm diggin the paint...

I'd like to see the Marzocchi forks on it
did they add an adjustable link for the rear susp?

ya paint, what-ev. I like the stripes +1.

I want to know more about how the new "R" bits changed the ride experience.
Can anyone compare / contrast?
Is the handling that much better/ worth the $$$
