I am just about due for a new set of rubbers - have about 4000 on my Pilot Power 2 CTs (which I have really liked a lot.)  My 08 Monster s2r 1000 came with Bridgestone's stock (Battleaxes, I think) and I didn't like them nearly as well as the Pilots.

Does anybody know how the new Bridgestone's would compare with the Pilot Powers I've been running?  Thanks for any feedback...

From all the reviews I have seen these will be better than the Pilot Powers. Also don't judge Bridgestone on stock OEM tires as these are often different from aftermarket ones. I'm running Pilot Power 2CT's now and just ordered a set of the BT-016's

Just ordered my set of 16s. They will be replacing a set of powers. I thought the powers were great but the mileage wasn't which is to be expected. I like the fact that the bridgestones have a hard(er) center and soft shoulders because I tend to commute a lot but love to hit the twisties on the weekends. Guess we will see what happens.

I agree - the Pilot Powers were nice but damn they wore out fast. I'm hoping the center section on the BT-016's is a lot harder.

I've got a couple hundred miles on the new BT016's and I have to say I really like the way they feel. Right now I'd have to say I prefer them to the Pilot Power 2CT's that they replaced. The only unknown is how long they will last, and I hope to get more than 4,000 out of them like the 2CT's gave

I didn't make the sale deadline, so I wound up going with a Pilot Road 2 CT on the back (my PP in the front is still okay.)  Only got one real ride on it so far, felt pretty good but I'm taking it easy until more broken in.  I'm hoping it'll last longer than the PP 2CT I had (only got 4000 on that, too), and that I haven't sacrificed too much grip.  Very curious to see how your BT016s work out.  Might be my next one if the Road isn't the answer.  Do keep us posted...

OK - I have about 800 miles on the BT-016's now and I just love the way they feel. The jury is still out as far as tire life goes, but I have to say that if they last as long or longer than the Pilot Power 2CT's then I am definitly going with another set of the BT-016's. If tire wear if shorter then I'll have to re-evaluate what to buy when the time comes. The weird thing about the BT-016's is that you can actually see where the outside compound starts as it wears different from the compound next to it, where as on the 2CT's you could never tell where the dividing line was.

[thumbsup] for the BT-016's

Wow!  Those tires sound really great!  Hopefully the mileage will pan out better, too.  I definitely want to try a set now.

The Pilot Road 2s are working out well so far, too.  I haven't yet noticed a big difference in grip compared to the Powers, but I haven't yet had much opportunity to really push it (done quite a bit of two-up riding with them so far.)  So far though, I'd say they're plenty grippy and seem to be much harder than the Powers (so I expect they'll last longer.)  And I like that they're supposed to be considerably better in the wet, since it's raining here in So Cal now and more storms are coming...

I have also been very happy with my Road 2s.  I have about 1K on them but unfortunately I have only had time for one real ride to put a little texture on the edges.  So far I have had no grip complaints what so ever but I am not the best rider.  I will wait for the rain to pass before I head out again.  Not a big fan of riding in the rain after many years in Seattle.  Hopefully this weekend.
