Donald, I appreciate your sentiments.  Yours is actually not really offensive but I wanted to make a point which is, I just see too many people using the Cross in a disrespectful way and don't care if they do offend someone.  Over the years, the Cross has been portrayed in vile ways to make fun of it and say it is acceptable because it is art.  Would the same people portray the Koran in a disrespectful way for no reason other than they want to make fun of it?  If they did they would be accused of being racist or discrimnatory or intolerant.  But it is not racist or discriminatory or intolerant to insult catholics or christians.  It would be a very serious person indeed who would portray any Islamic symbol or teaching in a mocking way or even just in a critical way (see Salman Rushdie's Satanic verses).

I am a Catholic but not a devout one.

CDC, thanks for being understanding. You certainly make a valid point.  
I don't think any of us would have posted such a pic or comments on the General Monster forum, but we felt comfortable here because we know the group that was on the HC trip and the nature of the jokes made during the trip.

I am a Catholic and I wore a cross around my neck for most of my life (until it was stolen a couple years ago). I like to think jokes around Christianity are perhaps more prevalent because we are hopefully more tolerant people. My family is made of up of some hardcore Catholics and since I started dating Jesus, you probably wouldn't believe some of the jokes they've made at our expense! I make jokes about my religion, ethnicity, sex, etc just as often as I do about everyone else's

Jeez, took me a while to wade through all those pics but I enjoyed all of them. Maybe someday they will allow old slow farts like me to have one of those camera thingys. They don't capture your soul when you get your picture taken do they? Nice exchange on the Jesus/cross thing. I am of no religion but respect them all. Who am I to judge? I am sure no offense was meant at all and Charles has good reason to express his feelings. All good. Why can't the rest of this f#@ked up world be like that?
