Motorcyclist printed my letter

well my email anyway.

It's this month's issue with the KTM RC8 on the cover.  A few months back I pregnant doged about their choice of the Versys for bike of the year, and sent them an email about it.  So anyway I'm grabbing some groceries last night late and while taking a few moments to peruse thier pitiful rag I notice my own email in print.  Well, well, well.  Smugly, I plunked down $5.40 for the issue and brought it home.

Then I realized.... make the beast with two backs - I've been had.  I had sworn off Motorcyclist a long time ago, yet here I am five bucks lighter and their latest issue in my hand.  They only printed my letter knowing my substantial ego would force me to buy a copy.  I immediately returned to the store for a refund and explained I had been outwitted by an unscrupulous editorial staff in LA, but the slow-witted clerk on duty apparently could not grasp this and unceremoniously denied my request while never moving far from the silent alarm button.

OwnyTony

are you playing mole?  Is this what motorcyclist paid you to do so that our curiosity would get the best of us so that we would be in the same boat as you while you secretly get greased. ;D

What did you write to them? why are you mad?  how do you feel and in what way do you feel like you have been duped.

I get a whole year of it delivered to my home for $5.00.  And that's the only way I'll read the magazine, it's not worth the normal subscription price.  On the whole, it's rather pathetic, but they occasionally have some good articles, so I only read those.

It's like I keep saying:  Those who would sacrifice a free range session for a giant beer, deserve neither free range time nor a giant beer.

Congrats!  I've been published 3 times in there.  Maybe nobody else is writing...

Maybe you could write the OP as another letter to them.  You might make 2 months straight - hell, you could get a column.

Basically all of the British bike mags like PB, Bike, etc.  More expensive, but vastly superior.

Evil_Ductator

Bike and TWO are both great.  Both expensive over here, but even if you get one every other month the content is way beyond what 2 issues of Motorcyclist and Cycle World have combined.

They publish actual journalism, with real-world riding impressions on bikes.  As opposed to just regurgitating brochure copy to keep the sponsors happy.
