So I had my first major crash last weekend.  Low sided at about 30mph on a patch of sand down in southeast OH.  I was riding with a bunch of buddies from the local club desmohio.

Fortunately the crash was pretty uneventful.  The bike and I slid seperately and came to a stop in a ditch.  My helmet was tore up and my leathers were a little muddy.  I ended up wth a stiff neck, a bumped head and a bumped elbo.  I even road the rest of the day with everyone.  The bike was still completely rideable.  The billet Speedymoto Clutch Cover took the brunt of it and I have to say I am impressed with how well it held up.  It' didn't budge just got scraped all to hell.

I wasn't even gonna file an insurance claim because I new I could fix everything with OEM parts on here relatively cheap.  Then I got talking to my buddy and realized that the check from the insurance company would be very big. So I filed a claim and actually had to work with the adjuster not to total my bike.  It's insane.  Just an FYI.  Some of the parts I scractched cost a lot from the dealer (which is the cost the insurance company goes on)  Here is a list of the parts that are huge.

Exhaust
$860 for each can
$1100 for the presilencer (the udder)

Tank - $2000

So right there before labor you could be at around 4 or 5k.  Needless to say they didn't total my bike and I got a pretty decent check.  I have bought some stuff off people on here and picked up the rest from the new start up company Motorcyclewishlist.com.  They have treated me really well and are a major sponsor of this forum.  I highly recommend them.

The only parts I'm still seeking are Ohlins Rear Shock off an S4Rs, Rapid Bike Chip and I'm waiting for the speedymoto rear sets to come out.  If anyone has a hook up there let me know.  Meanwhile here are some pics.  Geico even reimbursed me for a new helmet.  Which you can see many pictures of at the bottom.  I'm excited about my new Shoei RF-1000.  It feels so much nicer on my head than the icon did.

Glad that you walked away relatively unscathed!!

I can't get over the cost of the stock exhaust!!  Hell, at that price you should just as easily go with the full Termi/DP kit.  Then you would get the chip to make the bike run right, the air filter and still save a couple hundred to fund those rearsets!

Thanks guys.  Yah, I didn't like wrecking.  I'm glad I'm getting some money and yes I'm sure my insurance will go up.  Either way I'm pretty excited about forged aluminum wheels, full arrow exhaust and other goodies.

You are right too that billet clutch cover is solid.  I think it might be my new track clutch cover :).

That is absolutely re-damn-diculous, considering you can't resell those parts for squat.  when I got my termis the dealer actually threw those parts away

Funny part is the termis you bought were cheaper even with the DP ECU than the stock exhaust from ducati.
