Brit mags are written by the English who, unlike writers in American mags, know how to use the ENGLISH freakin' language...imagine that!

Brits really are more passionate about bikes.

Brits have tremendously clever wit and prefer self-abasing humor which sure beats American pedantic-poopie-pants humor.

Brit mags are expensive partly because of shipping but also because they have next to no advertising, which is a real plus.

That said...I haven't been able to find BIKE magazine at Barnes and Noble or Borders for a couple of months...is this just local or is there a problem with the mag?

Bike mag is still being churned out here in the UK.

hmmm... I just picked up the latest copy of BIKE @ a South Carolina B & N yesterday.  It took me about 15 minutes to find though because it was concealed way in the back row... which is crazy for a $10 mag.
Turn it off man, turn it off!  It's sucking my will to live!

Have always like BIKE magazine.  They take a more unbiased view towards motoring.  Might have somethin to do with the lower advert $.

It's been a couple of weeks, but I definitely just read a copy of Bike at B & N.  Keep digging.

+1.  I love the Brit mags.   [thumbsup] Great articles, good information, etc.  Plus, adds a the back of Superbike (I think that's the name) are a riot.  I've got to ask, what is the deal with the Brits and the whole dirty grandma thing? [beer]

I think it's a local thing, depending on which mags the bookstore chooses to carry.  Try another bookstore if you can.

Hate to admit, but I'm a free loader - I go to the local book shop once a month or so and read through the current issue of Bike etc. and have a cup of joe.  I at least try to keep the coffee drips off the pages and I do put the magazine back on the rack when I'm done!   ;D

For sure, the Brits know and love their bikes and riding & mostly have pretty good street cred IMO.

Oh, and +1 on the humor thing.  After living in the UK for 3 years, I came to the realization that 'Monty Python' was actually a factual documentary series  [laugh].

Haven't read it in a while but I use to have a subscription. These guys were hilarious! The photos were great too, esp. the one in the center ;D

I'm trying to figure out between TWO, PB and BiKE which i like best i find myself buying all three and figure a subscription to one although pricey would be worth it.

Since theres no price break for subscriptions to the Brit mags, I find myself doing the review before purchase thingy at the newsstands near my work before buying... ALL of them anyway!

Interesting.
I don't think they are half as good as the 'old' days, the standard of 'English' has deteriorated somewhat.
Cycle World (or was it Cycle) in the days of Kevin Cameron was good.

i found that after i picked up T.W.O. and read a copy, i started buying it, and stopped by american rags.

it's so much better that it makes it somewhat irksome to read the stateside publications.
