I kicked my bikes ass Chuck Norris style, but by accident.

So while dismounting my trusty steed this morning, I failed to lift my right leg high enough and inadvertently roundhouse kicked my right rear blinker...............

now for any normal human being, this might have meant nothing more than an awkward oopsie, but since I happen to have horse like power in my legs, the poor thing didn't stand a chance.............snapped off and dropped like a sack of (weak) potatoes

so my questions is, are there any options out there to keep super humans like me from doing this again? I mean , there's always the obvious "lift legs higher next time, dumbass", but frankly  I think I'm just too strong to have a blinker sticking that far out anyway..............I'd prefer to have something more flush mounted.

you could try flush mounted blinkers.   


sorry...couldn't resist.    Ask in accessories about flush mounting options...there's a ton of integrated options, smaller options, etc.etc.

Integrated lights are be illegal in some states, maybe all.  Not sure though.

HAHA, I did the exact same thing! I felt so dumb afterwards! No I don't feel so bad! I ended up epoxying mine back together, then I ordered the werkes tail chop, it has them tucked in a little more and out of the way from your fierce dismount.

Does that integrated tail light Lazarus posted fit on the 696?

I did exactly the same thing after owning my first bike for about 2 weeks.

Only difference was I kicked it hard enough to send the signal about 30 feet through the air.

You could always do what I did for the next couple of years... don't run any turn signals.

If you like the look, go the integrated route. 
Cleans up the back of the bike and offers a snag free, unobstructed, Norris style, dismounting clearance.  Although, I think I remember on episode #1145 of Walker, Texas Ranger, he dismounted his Monster by snapping the throttle, toeing his kickstand, and jumping into the air allowing his bike to ride out from under him and park itself.  You may say, well Josh, that's just crazy, the bike would still be running.  But any true Walker, Texas Ranger fan knows that his vehicles stay running and never runs out of gas.

I've done it too. My left hand blinker on the back is held on with some strategically placed black electrical tape. Can't even tell it is there .

ah, the infamous blinker kick. done that, but it didn't destroy anything (i can hear you out there, saying "girly man!" in an arnold voice!)

the no-blinker option is one to consider. i did it for awhile, but eventually decided to re-mount them, as i like people behind me to know what i plan on doing. drivers don't need help being stupid.

now the front blinkers... those never went back on.

I kick mine all the time when I'm dismounting. I've yet to knock them off with my foot but my high mount exhaust has melted off one set and working it's way through another right now. I should really switch to the flush mounted.
