So, I am buying an adjustable ride height rod for my bike today and was wondering if setting my 695 up with the same height as the larger duc's will be ok (i believe that is a near 2cm lift) or if I should do it in smaller increments.  Thanks in advance

It's common practice to work in small increments.

That said I'm a fan of raised rear height.

Well, how much would you suggest for me to raise the rear and another question just came to mind, will the stock kickstand work or will i need to block it up until I buy a longer stand?

I'd start 15mm higher and work up 5 mm at a time from there.

You'll know when you get to the point you don't like.

Are you going to do anything with the front?

If you do you'll want to make adjustments one end at a time.

I never lengthened my stand. The bike leans at a pretty steep angle, but it's a non issue to me.

Thanks for the advice.

I don't know if i really want to touch the front.  I wanted to raise the rear because I like the look of low can's, don't want them to hit and be able to use the whole tire.  Also I want the bike to turn in faster, but I don't want it to be ridiculous so I will start at the 15mm.

Thanks again

If you still have issues with the exhaust touching you may need to consider respringing the bike. Have you had a chance to check/set sag?

Sag was set at the dealer with leathers and a backpack on.  When I am in the twisties I usually don't carry a 15 lb back pack, so i think it should be fine

Edit: i have been hitting the side stand not the can's recently

Does it have that extension thingy to make it easier to get your foot on it?

If it does...time for it to go.   ;D

How much do you weigh?

The stock springs are too soft for you.

I weigh about 180 in street clothes.

I have .85 springs front and a 10.0 in the rear. I think you need about the same.
