Having been born and raised overseas and NOT in a vacation destination I can tell you that this place is the BEST on earth.  If only others would see things this way too....one day I hope.

Absolutely! Just emailed a Marine buddy at the courthouse about lunch. Always took him to lunch every Vet Day. Not that we didn't go to lunch other days but that day it was always on me.

I would like to extend this to commemorate the sacrifices of all members of the armed forces and of civilians in times of war, whatever country they come from.

I for one will be observing 2 minutes silence at 11 am as a mark of respect.

Well, I'm a vet, but can't say I ever made any real sacrafices.

But there are thousands and thousands who have.  And God bless them all.
