Crankcase cover guide pin question

OK, I have a crankcase cover off my 695 Dark I want to use on my '04800SS so I don't have to dismantle the cover and have it powder-coated. The problem is the guide pin on the lower left of the cover. My SS engine has the pin embedded in the engine. The 695 cover has it in the cover's pin hole. Other than drilling it out, any ideas/concerns on extraction? Call me a nervous nellie, but I'd rather not screw this up if I don't absolutely have to.

Some times the pin will stay in the cover, other times it stays in the case, it really does not matter, but of course in your case (pun not intended) you can only have one pin. I suggest you remove the one in the cover by heating it first, should come right out.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. I was mostly worried the pin was somehow rigidly affixed and I'd damage the case trying to remove it.
