S2R 800 to 1000 Seat Compatability?

I am sorry to have to ask this, as searching has come up with no answer for me.

Would a 2006 S2R 800 Seat fit the 2005+ S2R 1000? I am doing a Monoposto conversion for a S2R1000  and I want to make sure I don't blow any more money than I need too.

Yep.  Any ST frame based seat would fit.  THough the 620 and 695 seats have a lower saddle height

How MUCH lower? Woulda 695 seat prevent me from constantly crushing my sack on my S2R800's tank?

I have a Ducati shallow seat on my S2R 800. Its only 20 mm lower. I'm a girl so I don't have the sack problem. Have you tried gripping the tank with your knees and sitting further back?


ETA: According to Ducati.com, the S2R seat height is 31.5 and the 695 is 30.3. I'm not sure that theres a difference in the angle of the seat though...I went from a 695 to an 800 and it didn't seem that way to me.

The seat might be a little more dished... but that might make for more crushing... But perhaps your nut fix is not in the seat?  I've had a 620 (stock seat) and 900 (sgt seat), do have nuts and don't have crushing issues, even when I've gone hard on the brakes.

Perhaps:
you're sitting too far forward in the 1st place
Not enough weight in the pegs to keep you from sliding forward
Not using your legs/inner thigh to grip the tank sufficiently

I do my best to sit far back, it requires real effort to keep myself back there.
i've installed suburban machinery bars which have created quite the forward lean (makes for a nice steady front end, and a real sporty ride), but i just cant seem to help myself sliding forward, especially under hard braking. maybe i need to get some rearsets or something to get my feet a little more forward.

i love the look of the sargent seat, but the damn thing looks so friggin high, that i can't bring myself to think it would fit the style of riding i wish to accomplish...

maybe ill do some research on rearsets...

Are you having problems gripping the tank because your knees/thighs are sliding forward along the tank during braking? If so, I believe I've seen grippy stuff that you can put on those areas of the tank that fixes that issue.

Work them abs boy!  Look up 'Stomp Grips'  - commonly used on race bikes to provide more leg to tank traction.  I don't think rearsets is really the answer you seek
