swapping out my rear shock for one I picked up from Nick (thanks again, btw)  but I can't seem to break the bolts loose.

Anyone have suggestions or tips?  I couldn't get enough leverage without fear of throwing the bike off it's stands.

make sure the rear is unloaded either by hanging the bike (rear) or using a jack to unload the rear shock.

after that make sure to use a good tool (not one already worn out or wrong size) and use either a breaker bar for extra leverage or a pipe on your ratchet/allen key.

If they have not been off before some force might be needed this is much better feeling than discovering them loose ;)

front stand only.
Had the rear held up with an elaborate arrangement of crossbeams and ratchet straps.

Thanks.. I'll give it another shot later on.  Mostly making sure I was doing it right.. not some crazy italian backwards threaded bolt or something.

theres a nut on one side and hex head on the other.

when I removed mine it was a mothermake the beast with two backser. a rubber mallet for whacking. poor mans impact driver.

I got some eye bolts and set them in the beams in my garage and suspended everything. worked well

Do be careful, I would up wearing my M750 on that same #&$% bolt.  Jerked it right off the rear stand and onto me.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

A hand impact driver with an extension and some PB Blaster/Nuts off are your friends...

A breaker bar works too

ever get one of those wild hairs at like 10pm to just get up and finish something you've been putting off?  It's amazing what you can do with careful application of a floor jack.
