Looks like it started life as a tri-color. Then tank and cowl painted red

termis and ecu            $2,000
asorted bolt on bits      $2,000
paint job                     $1,000
dealer gets                  $3,000
=====================
                                  $8,000

BTW anyone know where to get the red hose pieces
All prices MSRP from Duc Catalog.  Obviously being a dealer this is not what they actually put into it.

Termi kit                                        2643 50mm full system   1615 cans, air filter and diff ecu.
Short tail                                        415
Rear Hugger                                   249
Steering Damper                             687
Speedymoto pressure plate              224
"Custom" open clutch cover              200
DP Silic. hose kit                              200

Total with standard termi upgrade                3590
Total with racing 50mm termi full system      4618

Paint job, Dealer profit, etc .... yawn, I don't know anyone who'd not negotiate most of that away on a new bike and on a used one it wouldn't factor at all.

For the extra 8k they're asking I could do the same mods plus carbon wheels, rear sets and a bunch of other bits.

My best offer would be 19000 OTD with the full system or 18000 OTD with the silencer kit.

As far as the hose kit

available red or blue for 199 MSRP.

2005 S2R -- Mods installed: DP termi full racing kit, ST4 Forks, S4R rear shock, 999 Radial Brake and Clutch MCs, 4 pot Brembo Calipers, 320mm Snowflake rotors, SBK Quick change carrier, 43T rear sproket, Tomaselli Clip Ons, Cyclecat Frame Sliders, ASV Levers, zero indicators, Supernova taillight

Agreed, but remember the dealers have a lot more overhead, and they have to eat a meal once in a while  ;D. (I am not a dealer but do own my own business [not motorcycle related])

I sent them an email. It read:

$23,000? ROFLMFAO!!!

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Isn't it a little early for them to be that heavy into the Eggnog?  [laugh]
I've been wallowing in my own chaotic and insecure delusions.

Have you seen the Ducati 848R yet ?

Ultimate MotorCycling has a write up on one that Ducati of North America has put out as an ultimate gift for Christmas.

" It's $39,980

It's got 134 hp, innovative crankcase.  MOTOGP elliptical throttle bodies, larger bore and stroke ratio more like a 1098.

Weighs 370 pounds . Doesn't say wet/dry ?

A competition -quality exhaust , a new rear subframe, Magnesium wheels, CF front fender, heels guards, and tail section ; billet gas cap, rearsets, and brake and clutch levers, Termi exhaust, and Ohlins suspension. "

Quote from John Paolo Canton , Ducati USA

No mention of TC or CF Belly pan like the 1098 R.

" This bike is for the rider who realizes the 1098 is just for bragging rights. The 848R is a street-able bike that delivers enormous pleasure and solid performance on the road and at the track." said John.

What do you think of that one ?   Dolph                                        ducatiusa.com          ultimatemotorcycling.com

Uhhh, there's something wrong here. A stock 848 is $13,999, has 134hp and is 369 dry.  ??? ??? ???

Thats ridiculous but i think i am following their logic now.  Whats the MSRP on a tricolore?  I think they are counting the addons from that base price.  WHich is ridiculous because its not even a tricolore anymore!
