Because, you're asking a group of people who cry when a company logo changes.

Because, you're asking a group of people who cried when the 696 ushered in a new generation of Monster.

Because, you're asking a group of people who need to know how to pronounce "Duc" as much as they need to know how to pronounce "latte" while they are prancing in their Dainese leathers in front of the Starbucks crowd and trying to convince the world that they are better than riders of other brands of bikes.  (Reference above post) :)

Because, you're asking a group of people who criticize Harley-Davidson quirkiness as crappy American engineering while at the same time praise Ducati quirkiness as Italian passion.

He's got a point.

"Look at harley! Same bike with no updates! Morons!"

"They changed the monster! Oh Noes!"
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

In some parts of the world they say Duke, in the US the common pronunciation is Duck.  A little like long a or short a in tomato.

I had thought when someone refers to a Ducati as a DUCK, it's usually derogatory - as in "You yellow duck is naked."
Goat Herder (Tony)
2003 Ducati Monster 620 - Yellow SOLD
2007 Ducati Monster S2R1000 - Black KILLED
2007 Ducati Monster S2R1000 - Red

Are you referring to the long form "Ducati" or the short, "Duc"?

Big Troubled Bear

I realy don`t care, as long as it pulls more chicks than a harley I am happy ;D
Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

It is definitely pronounced duck around here.  Dook in Britian.

As far as I'm concerned, the only thing that is pronounced dook that is worth a shit, is the mayonnaise.

Dear Abby,

I belong to a Ducati Monster Forum, but according to one member's description I don't fit the profile.
Should I trade in my Monster 696 and get a scooter?

Signed,
Sitting Duck.

The short term Duc.  I typed duck for pronunciation purposes.
