So, I've got this PS3 thingy...

Guitar Hero, or Rock Band?

Discuss in detail pros & cons, quality and ease of use of wireless guitars, quality of songs, and general wow factor. Be brief.

Was pretty wowed last night with GH and been playing most of the day today.  [thumbsup]

--this is on our DS; we also have a Wii coming for Christmas and got that version as well.

i voted rock band because it's the same concept, except i think it would be better or parties because the platform is set up for guitar, drums and vocals.

Rock band is a ton of fun!   It's nice to switch up what you want to play or sing even.

I've played RB on the Xbox360 and it was a great time.  You can download more songs to add to your music library.

GH is fun, but just guitars.  RB lets you play lead guitar, bass, drums, and sing

We got GH World Tour with Drums, Guitar, and Vocals for Lexi. We can add another guitar and download songs.

Never played RB, though.

Get both!  GH is awesome but Rock Band excellent with groups.  I can't believe how these games have turned my 14 year old into a classic rock fiend.  He momentarily had a notion that I was cool since I had seen a lot of those GH bands live and also own the vinyls.  This feeling quickly passed and I am again a dumb parent.

Rock band for sure.  Its a better platform imo, and I've owned both of them.  I'm getting Rockband 2 for Christmas, and you can upload the Rockband 1 songs into the new game, plus I believe you get 20 free song downloads as well.  The guitar controller is smoother as well in my opinion.  I think they are going to have the peripherals be compatible with both going forward though.

Expert guitar/bassist here if anyone needs a band member =P

Little trick I use..... I spray my fingers with olive oil cooking spray so they glide over the fret keys better!   [laugh]

+1

Also, on a moto-themed note, try Moto GP '08 on a Wii. My pick of the two is RB. DL more songs though.

Assasins creed.   You have a guitar, what you need are lessons ;)

Oh, but you are so wrong... What I am sorely lacking is talent :P

BTW, I appear to have the beginning symptoms of GH withdrawal.
