What year did the testastretta motor first appear in a Monster?

Yes, I know it's a dumb question, but I'm having a hard time finding it online.

Also: did the 998 motor ever appear in  Monster or did they just go straight from the 996 motor to the 999 motor?

-Arrow CF Exhaust
-RaceTech Gold Valve suspension F/R
-Precious little else because I like what Ducati came up with

2001 - 2002 : Desmoquattro 916cc in the S4

2004-2006: Desmoquattro 996cc in the S4R

2006-2008 : Testastretta 998cc in the S4Rs and S4R testatretta

AFAIK, the above is correct, years shown are for USA, S4R availability was different for the rest of the world, and I think the S4R was available in late '03 as an early release '04 model.
