temp. sensor question

I've been doing some cold weather riding lately now that I have the heated gear to keep me toasty. I have the full Termi setup wth DP computer ect. on my S4RS and when it's warm out the bike runs great but may still be a bit lean. The last two time I was riding it's been in the mid to low 30s' outside. When it's this cold out the bike feels really lean on the bottom end in the midrange. If it weren't a FI bike I would fatten up the bottom end and raise the needle a bit to take care of this issue.

My Question: Souldn't the "intake Air Temp" sensor make adjustment for the colder more dense air and richen itself up as needed?  I was thinking about installing tbe baffles in the Termis to se if that helps but I'm thinking it may make it too rich on the top end.

What do you think?

It should compensate for air temp, so there's four possible issues.

A) It's not compensating enough. But that's controlled by a map in the ECU, not much to do about that, unless Monstermash can tweak that map.

B) Your temp sensor is kaput. LT Snyder's book has a table of resistance values (ohms) vs. temp:

                                           Temperature
            -20degC       -10 degC        0 degC       +20degC         +60degC         +80degC
High          30.51           17.42          10.23           3.15              0.78                  0.39
Low          27.66           15.76           9.26            2.85              0.71                  0.35

C) Wiring is bad.

D) Something else.  :P

Thanks for the input.

I'll check out the values, it's a simple enough thing to do. What I really need to do is find a good shop to tweak the ECU. I may make the trip to WV for a visit to DucPond  [moto].  My local dealer is known for a place to NOT have this sort of work done.  :(

The only adjustment available on the ECU is trim which affects the complete rev range.

Is this why I read of people staking a PCIII on top of the Ducati Performance ECU?  Gone are the days of a simple carb adjustment  :(

interesting..
