Gear spree!!!

It seems that I'm in the midst of my own economic stimulus package.  Actually, much of my gear has reached a point where it had succumbed to the asphalt, age, flames, intemperate weather or paramedics' scissors.  So it was high time for a gear spree.  It didn't hurt that Helimot was having a sale on his custome suits last month ($250 off!) or that Road Rider in San Jose had a sale where everything was dealer cost + 15%.  Here's what I ended up with.  None of it is blingy, but it's all good quality stuff.  [thumbsup]

Helimot Classic H  custom one-piece.  With an additional speed hump, perf’d front panel and a bit of quiet red n' grey striping.

Helimot back protector (for suits with speed humps)

Helimot Heli-belt.  It keeps your one piece from dragging on teh ground when you unzip.  More info here.

Daytona Road Star GTX Goretex boots.  They're my new commuting/rain boots.  My A*s have had a long and fruitful life, but the waterproofing is starting to go and they're beat to shit.  The Daytonas are soooooo comfy.

Daytona Evo Sport boots.  Ordered, but will arrive mid-Jan.  I've been craving a pair of these boots for years.  They'll be my twisties/track boot.  I've seen some truly awful crashes with people wearing the Evos and they've walked away, ankles and feet intact.  And you can replace the outer skin when it wears out.  Here's what they look like --

Held Phantom gloves.  For da twisties.  My current Helds have seen a coupla too many crashes.

Rev-it Unix H20 gloves.  My new waterproof gloves for commuting and winter twisties.  My Tourmaster winter gloves were stolen.

Shoei X-11 Helmet.  My other helmets have seen asphalt.  Time for a new one.  I'm gonna spruce it up with some color at some point.  I also need a new dark faceshield.  That's still on my list.

Still to purchase:
-- Gerbing heated, collared vest with dial controller.
-- Wind proof 1 piece undersuit
Occasionally AFM #702  My stuff:  The M1000SS, a mashed r6, Vino 125, the Blonde, some rugrats, yuppie cage, child molester van, bourbon.

Quite the Haul, Congrats!

You deserve a Presidential Award for economic stimulus!  Wear your new goddies well [thumbsup]

Nice haul!  I bought a pair of the Daytona EVO Sports from Helimot a few months ago, best boots I've ever owned.  As sturdy as they are, I was surprised that they were also the most comfortable pair of boots that I tried on.

I'm now lusting after a pair of Helimot H20 gloves to replace my Helds... Helmut makes great stuff.
Sold: 2007 S2R1000 for canyon carving and commuting - DP ECU, PCIII, BMC air filter with open box, Zard full exhaust, Race-tech fork internals, Ohlins steering damper, and a Penske 8987 triple clicker

2000 996XU (extra ugly) for track days - BST carbon wheels, Ohlins shock, reworked fork, FBF exhaust, and a bunch of megacycle rocker arms. The rest of it is junk - Hey, I'm just happy that it runs...

Sold: 2002 Aprilia RST1000 for touring - De-restricted airbox, Taylormade Racing exhaust

I actually prefer the Helds to Helimots.  They *seem* to last through more crashes, though both brands are really, really crashworthy.  And the Helds are the only glove I've ever found that just "fit" my hand right.  Helimot could make a custom pairs of H2O, but the Helds fit so well, I've never been motivated to switch.  Those H2Os do feel like butter though.  Nice.  I really like the F108 gloves for summer riding too.

That bright yellow jacket you wore to ZG still looked like it had some life left it in. Hope you don't neglect it now you have new duds. ;)

I broke the piggybank and bought something at the D-Store I wanted, not needed. At least it'll make me look like I can ride? ???

That's cool.   I had been using scrap line off the boat and just tying it around my waist.  Everyone commented on it and said good idea.  Might have to get all fancy with this instead.
It's still buy a flounder a drink month

Strong work. I thought I was doing my part for the economy with the Tricolore jacket, new helmet, Pazzo levers - but now I feel inadequate and ashamed :-[

(sigh) Back to the dealer on Wednesday to spend more  [evil]

Pretty sure you've spent on gear probably double what my last bike cost.  I hate you.  Oh and you're not racing or going to the track?  Yeah, right.   [laugh]

Looks good.   [thumbsup]

Oh, I won't.  The 'stich is alive and well and will be for many years.  Wore it today, in fact.  Good gear stands the test of time (and asphalt).   [thumbsup]

Same here.  My suit costs more than any of my POS EX250 racebikes.   :-\  But that's cuz they cost about $24 each.

It's such a simple thing that I'm amazed that no one made 'em before.  I think they're like $14 or sumptin'.  They come in all sorts of colors, and I betcha Helimot would even make you a fancy schmancy custom one if you asked.   :)

You must have won some sort of lottery, Spidey. I've never seen a soon-to-be father pull off a moto-related purchase this big ;D
