I was trying to be nice today and let the hubby ride my 696 today since I bailed on the ride.  What is the first thing he does when gets on the bike?  He rips off one of my mirrors while trying to tighten it.....    [bang] [bang] [bang]
(Just kidding, I knew that one had issues, but I have to give him a hard time  ;D)

So, now I am looking for suggestions for bar end mirrors.  What do you have?  What do you like and dislike about them?

I've got the Motrax billet, only because they were cheap and strong.  :P

The problem with them is that they do not fold, nor do they have the set screw. You have to peel off the glass to replace.

When mine go south, I plan on getting CRG lane splitters.

At first I thought "I've don't know" then I realized if I look up (I'm eating supper) I see a pair in front of me.

On the Hyper they work very well as no elbows are in the way.

CJ's look great on his Monster, but I agree with the folding hinge.

Hope to see you manana Katy.

I'm sorry to interrupt in a local club, but I believe there was a thread a few weeks ago mentioning that the braking of stock mirrors on the 696 was quite common. It was said that this problem was recognized by Ducati and new mirrors or aftermarket are paid for under/by warranty.
Could be worth checking out with your dealer - maybe ask in "general" to see if anyone can verify?

CRG's, hindsight's (non folding) or lane splitters work wonderfully.  The increased field of vision has to be seen to be believed  (wider stance, plus convex mirror).  Also the almost never vibrate  :)  I had the non folding ones on my old monster and had no issues, they hold adjustment very well.  Su has the lane splitters on her Buell.

I have some "slightly" used bar-ends from when I purchased to-be's bike.  If you want them let me know and I'll email you a picture.

As some of you have probably already heard too many times, I like Rizoma Reverse Retros (black).  Both of my bikes have them now.

My left hand mirror kind of fell off about 2 months ago.  I spoke to AMS and they had it replaced under warranty.

The place where it is fixes to the bike is thicker on the new mirror, the strange washer is no longer required and it seams to tighten easier, I guess the Italians realised it was bad.

Whilst it was off I notice how much nicer she looks without the stock mirrors and I'll be getting lane splitters eventually, I was hoping to get them for xmas but didn't, naughty Amy.  ;D

Cool, thanks for the info.  [thumbsup] I will ask about that when I take it to the shop for other issues this week.  I am hoping they will give me a credit to buy some different mirrors instead of just giving me a new, stock replacement.
