I'm looking at a new old stock Fast by Ferraci eprom chip for the 996 for $50. Is this pretty much the same as the DP ECU? IF so, is there any reason it wouldn't work on my 04 S4R which uses the 996 motor? Thanks for the help!

Okay I might be mis-reading here, Let me know if I am reading this wrong.

you have a mS4R
and you can buy a FBF 996 chip..... Correct?

If so the answer is no, well not with out a complete wiring harness and throttlebodies from a 996 as well.

the 996 used a very different ECU to what you have the MS4R has no "chip" it is a downloaded map. The 996 also runs a dual injector per cylinder in stock form, this is what the FBF chip is for probably.

let me know if I read you wrong.

Nope, you read me 100% right, thank you! You saved me some money and heartache.  [beer]

No problem.

you know the only good way to buy one of those eproms is when they are attached to a running motorcycle. [thumbsup]
