Good points...and correct on all counts!     [clap]

Since I'm an old fart, all my relatives are of German ancestry and I ride a V-twin as well as a CBR1000RR, that would put me in good company and squarely on both sides of the fence...!   Hmmmm....    [roll]    Maybe that's why I thought the video was so darn funny...  Keep 'em coming....  I'll look for the next one.

I see a skidmark start just as he starts going down, and you can see the front wheel tuck to the left. I think he just locked up the front brakes.

Yes, there is a skid mark that briefly shows up behind the bike in the slow speed video section between 32-33 seconds.

The black bike rider in front is going quite a bit slower and the curve tightens there so the red bike rider may have tried to slow down.

It doesn't take much front brake, or rear, while heeled over hard to drop the bike.  As Don Juan has said, it's likely he used too much front brake.  I have seen this happen at the track a few times.

The red bike rider is pretty lucky that he went under the guard rail and also missed the thick wood support post.  .... scary stuff...   :o

Looks like the rider wasn't well committed to turning, either.  His hips are slightly off to the left, but the bulk of his body is on top of the bike.  Poor body position.  I think he target fixated, as the front wheel is headed toward the guard rail when he tucks it in.

I "accidentally" found the source for the crash video in Karl's previous note.  Apparently the videos are taken on Mulholland Drive in LA.  Weekend camera companies and amateurs set up on some tricky curves.  So do the cops.  Below are some of the many videos from that spot.

This video is like Karl's, but it is an 848 crashing just a little further up the road.  He probably used too much throttle and the rear end lets loose.

Here's one with exotic cars.  Note Jay Leno driving at 56 seconds, at 2:00 a cop stops a very nice Lamborghini ....etc.  [leo]  You have to click on this link to make it work.

Here's a CBR1000 high side.  He used too much throttle.  This one is pretty ugly....   :P

There are probably lots of riding and driving lessons to be learned here.  ...Ahh... California...what else can you say!....

How about: If we were there, we could be riding the mountains & not talking about them.
I promise to make better mistakes tomorrow.

I think the guy used too much throttle and forgot that someone built a house there......     [Dolph]

.... Oh...and... he also violated several California traffic laws and showed a general lack of respect for authority....!             [coffee]                   [leo]

Black Devil - Moscow Ride on R1

Watch this to the end or scoll to the end.  It gets more intense.... if that is possible...

Karl (code name...  Black Devil) puts his hand over the camera near the end to avoid recording something that would give him away!    ;D
