THE NEW DUCATI MONSTER 1100 S ARRIVES IN DEALER SHOWROOMS

The flagship of the Ducati Monster family arrives in showrooms this weekend

Cupertino, CA (5 January 2008) - Ducati North America is proud to announce the imminent arrival of the 2009 Monster 1100 S in US showrooms, and exciting celebrations surrounding the big-bore Monster's arrival.

This coming January 9-10th, over 100 Ducati dealers across the United States and Canada will be taking part in the Monster 1100 S showroom unveil. This event is a celebration to mark the delivery of the new naked bike that the media is hailing as a "rare breed" which "offers real charisma with its honest but visceral motorcycle charm."

Each dealership will put their own unique touches on the event, which includes a competition amongst fifty-eight of them to find the parts and service department capable of producing the coolest custom Monster.

Fifty-eight dealers in the US and Canada have taken delivery of a body panel set in order to begin paintwork on the dealership's dream Monster; and all have accessories in house waiting to be fitted on the dealership's first bike.

The weekend will celebrate the individuality and personal expression inspired by Ducati's flagship naked bike and highlight the vast potential of the Monster 1100 S.

It will be cool to see how they customize these. Any insider info? Anyone going?

I'm not sure but so far i won't buy one unless the exhaust and head lamp options are many

Exhausts are plentiful.

The 696/1100's are much better looking than the models they replace.  I still like the Brutale headlamp best, but the 696 headlamp is fine.  My only complaint with the new monsters are their hideous rear sets.  I know that speedymoto is allegedly producing aftermarket rearsets, but I have yet to see them.

Are AMS doing this?

Do we need to be invited?

What's wrong with exhaust and headlight, they look just like mine...  ;D

Of course there'll be a ton of aftermarket accessories for the 1100 as with all models, it''l just take a few months before they start trickling out.

HEY MAN you saying you think my bike is ugly??? [evil]
J/K   :P when I first saw the 696 it didn't do much for me but I must say it's grown on me and it's been neat to see new exhaust, carbon bits etc. become available. Now I just need the price to drop so I can afford one....

On topic - can't wait to see the new bikes in person  [thumbsup]

The 696 is fine but I wish the 1100 should look beefier

The 1100 motor is a sweetheart, in a 20lb lighter chassis than the hyper it should be very entertaining.  AMS is on the list of dealers particiopating in the premiere weekend, so it will be a good chance to swing a leg over one.  Saw one at the IMS show, but they were up on a pedestal  :(

Too bad there is not a better looking front fairing for them, at least for now.

Eurosport is as well. It should be interesting to see what the 2 dealerships did with their custom paint jobs  [thumbsup]

Eurosport just received their M1100.  I do not think that they are doing a launch party  :(

Major Bummer--are they going to customize?

Slag

I  do not know. They have a white S model, and that is all I know.

The seat height feels much better than the 696. It will go on the showroom floor on Thursday.

Samsonite

I sat on the 1100s today, and it fealt really good.  I was surprised.  I really liked the feel and height.  I bet its a blast to ride [moto]
