have it.
did a posting on it. let me find it for you.

EDIT:

here's my take on the RG Racing Tidy Tail. (from my September post)
Basic:
-ordered directly from RG Racing
-took a week from UK for shipping.
-RG Racing photo gallery http://www.rg-racing.com/RGProducts/ProductGallery.aspx?sku=lp0072bk&page=1

Pluses:
-the kit is thick high quality tough as nails metal
-Painted black already.
-keyhole is in the correct location on the side.
-plate light is screwed on in the correct location and looks real nice.
-two pieces only that line up real nice with the bikes lines
-looks like it will fit euro and stateside plates
-fits nicely underseat edges with no sharp edges.
-place to put the wiring in the pieces
-cheaper than the DP shorttail
-even included shrink tube for the plate light wires

Minuses:
-my bottom piece is folded a bit too narrow so i have to press out the sides abit. when i mean a bit i mean 1/16 of an inch or less, but because the metal is so strong it's not easy
-the bottom back tab where it is to be screwed together with the top piece again is folded a bit off could use the screws (but when a plus since i ran the plate light through one of the holes)
-it's @ $50 more than the CW tail
-no blade connectors so had to cut stock plate wires, but not a major thing since they provided roud connectors (which are more secure than the stock)

(update)
Sent an email to R&G about the narrow piece, been a while so maybe they fixed it, unless my was just a one-off bad day for the machine.

no problem. it's a nice tail piece. i had purchased the Competition Werkes tail, but found the sharp edges, and fit/finish less than i wanted. this almost looks stock quality.

Raux

ok so i got stopped by the German police today with the R&G Tail Tidy. The officer said he couldn't read my plate cause it was angled up too much. i tried to explain to him the angle is 'stock' and the problem is the plate itself. The military over here doesn't have bike size plates so i ended up with a standard US size car plate. the light is only wide enough for a bike plate so you can't see the first and last numbers. hmmm i see benefits to this. but in the end the officer said oh ok i understand and let me go on my way.

Ditto Raux, I never even mounted the CW tail after I got it. I'll probably sell it here if I can. I like the R&G for the most part, but the M6's by the tag light are way too short to allow for wire clearance and the instructions sucked big time.
2009 M696, 14T front sprocket, M1100 bars and riser, DP bar ends, CRG levers, R&G tail tidy, Exan carbon fiber exhaust cans, DP low profile seat, 12v port for charger and TomTom, Motovation frame sliders, axle sliders and fork sliders. LH Euro air shroud with charcoal canister removed. GIPro gear indicator. Rizoma rearsets.

Could we see some pics of it witht he plate on there (US plates)?

where is the key relocated to with the CW kit?

the cw key is underneat the tail. you have to stick your arm under the back of the bike.

the R&G is where the stock is, although i think slightly in about 1 inch.

i don't have a pic of a motocycle size plate. the military here in europe uses US car size plates for bikes.  [bang] it covers about an inch of each exhaust.  :'(

i didnt use the two small screws at the back to put the two plates together, i used one of the holes to run the plate line wire through.

DucatiTorrey

thanks for the input on the CW kit. I called to cancel it, we'll see if it happens. in the meantime, could you take a few more pictures on the tidy tail kit at various angle underneath the bike. I'm curious to see hoe clean it looks comapred to some pictures i've seen of the CW kit.

i'll try to do that. as soon as i can get to my garage.. got snowed in today.

other cool things.
the R&G has a place for the wiring unlike the CW.
the key hole is in the same location as the stock.
the plate light actually screws on not a stickon (if i remember the CW correctly) and works well

DucatiTorrey

great! yeah if you could get a picture with the light too maybe? i think this is what i want.

you added some things huh?

DucatiTorrey

that's not too bad. what blinkers are those? i do like the cw in the rear position, between the exhaust hangers. I'm torn, but now i'm still thinking more towards the R&G. hmmmm

do either of thes replace or move the tool kit? what about helmet lock? (is there one?) bike should be delivered later this week, so  i've got time

getting a little ahead of myself!  [cheeky]
