I have been checking out this bag for SSS monsters with the shotgun exhausts for a while now.

Does anyone have any experience with it? Seems like it might encourage you to load your bike really wrong, but seems like it could be useful for trips where you didn't need a whole lot of storage.

For trips with a passenger, it's maybe the only alternative to a backpag bothering the passenger.
I think the bracket is no good with a chopped tail though. The bracket itself is quite thin and doesn't ruin the look, when riding without the bag on.

Here's a couple of pics on a '07 S2R1000.  I don't think the mount will work with a chopped tail unless you do some modifications, as one end of the mount is attached to 2 bolts on the license plate bracket.  Without the bag, the mount is unobstrusive.  With the bag, the bike is pretty stable and the bag doesn't move, even at highway speeds.  Can hold quite a bit and is expandable.

Givi makes a system for the S*R' s, as well, in a 2-sided. So, one sticks out over the cans. Not sure of the cost.

I just can't justify the cost of the Ducati setup (Just past 300, if memory serves... Jammer?). I figure when I cave, I'll just fab my own bracket and mount a sidebag to it.

A) I can do it for less.
B) I get the satisfaction of saying I fabricated it myself.

But for now, a tailbag and a tankbag fill my extended stay needs.

Yeah, it's an expensive setup for only one bag.  I was quoted $250-$300Cdn from my dealer.  I got lucky and bought mine from a forum member on the other forum list.

The Givi setup has the exhaust-side bag jutting out really far, but I suppose when you're riding your bike, you don't really care how the bike looks behind you...   ;D

It's a simple-enough mount, if you have the know-how and the tools to do the job.  I have neither...    8)

When you get around to fabing your own mount and need measurements, hit me with a PM.

as far as improper loading goes, i don't think you'd have too much to worry about.
those stock pipes are fairly heavy, at least 25lbs. at worst, this could even out the bike a bit?

just pull your pipes off and go udder only for the long trips ;)
