Because of this thread, I picked up a 750ml bottle of Eagle Rare on my way through NH last weekend (on sale for $21???).

I'm happy to report that its half gone.

That's an excellent price and an excellent product.  Glad you enjoyed!

Tonight's endeavors :) :)  [drink]

Bookers is incredible.  I had a nice on-board credit on my last cruise.  Bookers was poured for me pre and post supper.  It was good.

How do you like the Jefferson's?  I've never tried that one.

The Architect

Jefferson's is high on my list and would recommend it.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Headed to a small batch bourbon tasting tomorrow at my local cigar bar  ;D

Opened a bottle of Blantons Single Barrel that someone gave me for Christmas of '09.  Always thought it was going to be the cheesey round bottle of hooch that lives forever on the bar (next to my Talisker).

Much to my surprise, it is now in my top three Bourbons!  I like it better than Bookers.  First sip is dry with a hint of salt (big surprise), then the semi typical sweetness follows, blah blah blah.

Bottom line: Its good shit worth trying.   [thumbsup]  [thumbsup]

I know it's not Bourbon but rather than start a new thread for Rye Whiskey and Scotch, these found their way into my stocking from Santa...

Yes it is, and I am a Scotch lover.

Lagavulin is good stuff.  I need to try a bottle or three of of the new batch Ryes.

I have ~never~ had rye in my life.  There is a local distillery (Catoctin) that one of my neighbors is a part owner of and he's been trying to get me to come out.  I'll just ask for a sample bottle first...

Any other rye suggestions?  I'm a confirmed bourbon fan.  I like scotches and irish whiskies but by far prefer bourbons.  I also like anise whiskies like raki or arak and also grappa.  My tastes are wide.

Some of the ryes I have tried and like were High West Rocky Mountain Rye, Whistle Pig Rye, and Rittenhouse Rye. My uncle is the Rye guy so I will have to get some more suggestions from him.
I'm more of a Scotch guy and more specifically, Islays.
